About the professional side
My main area of focus is designing and implementing a decision support solution for airlines using custom BI additions to Excel, and Java based open source technologies. I’ve spent 3 years working in an airline to understand the information needs of different departments within the airline, and the complexities of the airline business.
My other computing interests include Data Mining, Oracle database technologies and Linux. I double as an Oracle DBA and Redhat Linux administrator whenever my personal watchdog, Nagios, indicates there’s something that needs attending too.
I hold a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and AI and am a research student in Information Visualization and Social Networks at University College Dublin.
