Not an exceptionally amusing day today. To start it was our helpdesk guy's last day at IT. Now all our friends have either been transferred or quit work. We got an exquisite piece of vanilla cake as a marginal consolation. A big fat cock is coming my way. I have to re-introduce the elections system, and guess what; I'm going to be abroad during its usage. The only positive thing is that I managed to get some hard earned overtime tomorrow. I've already made it crystal clear that I will defiantly not tolerate any complaints and not respond to any calls when abroad.

The troll was quite mad at me today. Yesterday after spending a whole day starring at the restore procedure for nothing, I left her alone after work. Six hours freezing in the server room for nothing is not nice, doing nothing is worse. Water is still dripping from the A/C (near the Alpha Servers) because the new one is not working yet. The restore procedure was supposed to take around 4 hours but our excellent mega-intelligent support team suggested a change in procedure despite our insistence, and ruined the whole restore at the very end. At 1600 the phone rang and I was called to another department. I shot out of the office at the godsend opportunity to avoid another minute in her presence, and avoid overtime with her. The plan worked and this morning I got the confirmation hearing her petulant morning discussion with our maid.
