Kill Bill Vol 2

This afternoon I got a phone call from an old high school pal. As usual he had to make the call, even though I’ve been meaning to send an e-mail since April. I should be ashamed with my attitude sometimes. He’s one of the very few close friends trusted with this URL.

Yesterday evening we went to watch the much anticipated Kill Bill Vol 2. (Reviews)Awesome!!! The movie is more like a sequel to the first movie rather than a direct continuation. All the gore and brutality from Vol 1 disappear except for the eye plucking incident part. It seems that Quentin finished all the litres of blood by the end of the first film. Although I adored every second of the first film I believe it was a good choice opting for a less bloody and humorous perspective for the second film. In its entirety the movie might have risked getting repetitive or monotonous.

The film starts by explaining exactly what happened on the night Black Mamba (Beatrix) was shot introducing Bill from the very start. Uncharacteristically the movie continues somewhat chronologically following the killing agenda from Vol. 1.

The second film is on a more serious note than Vol 1. Apart from an incident or two, laughter is kept to a minimum. Believe it or not, there are other emotions portrayed by the characters other than cold blooded revenge.

Although the movie is spectacular and brilliant in every way it might not appeal to anyone. Unfortunately, to be able to fully appreciate the second opus you must’ve seen the first movie, which somewhat restricts the audience to blood friendly viewers. On the other hand if you’ve already seen the first movie and didn’t like it, make an effort to watch the second part, you might like it.
