I started blogging one day out of frustration at work more than a month ago. According to my normal interest/disinterest routine I loose interest in things after around 3 weeks, which suggests that I’m getting seriously involved in blogging.

My initial interest in blogging was to keep note of what’s happening in my life so that I can get nostalgic every once in a while. When I was creating the first blog I debated whether to make the blog private, but I argued that if I wanted to make it so I might as well not publish it on the internet. Who would want to read about my life after all?

This concept tumbled down the moment I read the first comment on my first post. Somebody actually read my blog. All of a sudden I found myself going to the blog each time I hit the internet to check for comments. All of a sudden it felt really good having people reading something I've written. Needless to say, as soon as I found my blog featured as blog of the week on BeBlog I was overjoyed. From then on I started my blog publicity quest.

I subscribed to a number of services to advertise my blog but the page view figures are still disconcerting. Even more frustrating is the fact that whenever I try to search content from my own blog nothing is returned. All indexing routines seem to hate mind spill. From the 2nd of April to date I tried to publish my blog using the following services.

• Technorati
• Feedster
• Blog Street
• Day pop
• Blogrolling
• Blog Wise
• Blog Search Engine
• Is my blog HOT or NOT?

As in normal life the smaller you are the more difficult it is to become popular. In most of these services the top blogs are all the same, no wonder I can never seem to have any traffic at my blog.

I haven’t yet come to terms why would I want my blog to be read by others. The closest I can get is the positive feeling you get when someone values your thoughts and opinions. Could this need be due to the lack of respect we get at work?
