Social Networks Introduction

This video is the perfect way to describe social networks, one of the my research topics of interest. I'm thinking of starting a new category about social networks too. Currently I'm trying to understand why people use social networks? What's so attractive to them that make them rank higher than Google in Alexa country ratings.

We can judge the popularity of these sites by seeing their ranking in http://www.alexa.com/data/details/main?url=www.fortunehotels.in Alexa. Orkut has been steadily rising on the Alexa charts but MySpace is still significantly bigger than Orkut.com.
