The Forgotten

To end this busy week we went for a movie with our friends and watched The forgotten (Review). On how many things can 6 people unanimously agree, not many, but the movie's final impression was one of them – its ending was crap. The first half of the movie was quite good and I was hooked to the story but I would have made a better choice if I decided to skip the whole second half. Since I think I've convinced you not to go and watch I'm going to include a spoiler.

The film is about this lady Telly (Julianne Moore) who believes that her child died in a plane crash and because of this she suffers a severe trauma. One fine day all physical evidence related to her child vanishes and nobody else remembers that this child existed. From now on she tries to find evidence that her child really existed and the accident really happened.

[Spoiler starts here]All the credibility and story built in the first part got trashed away in favour of an X-Files ending for the events that happen. There are two scenes in particular that passed through the eyes of drunken editors being completely stupid and useless. The first one is when the evil guy automatically heals a bullet wound, and the second is when he starts screaming and his face transforms itself and the scream shatters all the glass in a room. Show-off of unimpressive effects. Anyhow the final rating is 2 stars, 1 for the sake of being a film and the other for having a first half good enough not to make me fall asleep.
