Let's make things clear – I'm not a gay but were I to be one there are two reasons I'd love to be with Mr Muniz; he's a hell of a lovely bloke and whenever you search for him on Google my site is the first hit. This is quite an achievement and the number of visitors to this blog increased by more than 50%, so I decided to pay Sergio Muniz a tribute. Most probably the reason I figure so high in the rankings is due to the fact that the English speaking world is still oblivious to this Spanish model. The information posted below is a potpourri of collections from the internet and TV but since almost all of the information is in Italian I find no harm in reiterating it in English.

The explosion of Sergio Muniz came with his allegedly unplanned participation in the Italian reality TV show Isola dei Famosi 2. The model exploited fully his chance to remain alone on a deserted beach in the region of Santo Domingo after he was voted by the public on the second nomination to get eliminated. Unfortunately I didn't start watching the show from the beginning and until this day I don't know what was the reason why he got nominated by the other participants in the first place.

Needless to say Sergio fared much better on his own than with his companions because from the time he set foot on the island he enchanted the audience and pledged his place as the winner from an early stage. Let's face it, spending 48 days alone on a remote island is enough proof that you deserve to win the competition. What's more, when compared to the other people on the island who were struggling to find one or two crabs, Sergio was always finding had an abundance of crustaceans all procured by himself.

During his time on the island we had the opportunity to observe the introvert character of this promising new celebrity. His good sense of humour was amply demonstrated on one of the best moments in the show, when presenter Massimo Caputi gave him some food and after eating every crumb he improvised a very funny song on his guitar because of a stomach ache. Needles say, Sergio is a person who's comfortable with himself as he couldn't have managed to overcome such a demanding challenge otherwise.

After his victory at Isola dei famosi he was offered to shoot a 2005 calendar for the Italian magazine MAX. Being no stranger in front of the camera Sergio shot 12 relatively cast photos for each month. When asked about the reason for not going in the nude he replied that he wanted to make a calendar that reflected his true nature, and he's not someone who likes to calls for attention.

Take a look at all of the photos of Sergio Muniz and identify a common feature in them …. now look at his face … have you noticed that his smile is everywhere? This newcomer to TV has a smile that says much more about his character than words could possibly say. What's surprising is that only a couple of months ago he was only known to the most famous catwalks in the world. I'm sure we'll see much more of him in the coming year and in the mean time he's sure to enter more than a couple of homes with his MAX calendar.
